hey fellow classmates! I am excited to start this blog part of the class becaue I have never blogged before but have been thinking that I want to. If any of you know how I can make this blog look fun and decorate it let me know because I havent got the slightest clue!

ReplyDeleteJo, I like the layout you have chosen; just a main column containing your posts with comment box and a right hand side bar containing information about you and the site. Including your image and brief personal introduction lets us, the reader, know who you are and a little bit about you; the author. Since you haven’t really discussed what your vision and mission are in creating this blog; or where you want to go with it, I have formed my own ideas as to what your intentions and reasons may be. I believe that your intentions are to express and share your views and opinions, with us your readers; to inform and educate, as well as to learn from our participation through comments and discussions. If so, you are definitely off to a great start.
The use of videos makes your blog very educational, informative and current. I also like your idea of asking your own personal ‘critical question’ following the response from the question from our PSC 1010 class discussions, prompting your readers to get involved. This is a great idea for stimulating further discussions on your site. The use of images within your posts adds a lot; I like how they tie into your message. The other pictures, images and layout of your site give us an idea of your political vision and mission.
Some suggestion I might offer would be:
1. Describe a bit more about your mission, what you want your intention is for your blog, (i.e. are you just commenting on what’s going on or voicing your opinions?
2. Proof read your post for spelling and grammar before publishing, edit and make corrections you may locate after publishing.
3. You may want to consider adding pages, i.e. a page specifically for videos and another you’re your critical question posts.
Over all, you have done a very good job creating your blog site. It is informative, entertaining and well planned. I would like to see a bit more of your personal political views and stands on certain current issues. I am definitely going to keep up with your site and you can count on comments from me. Thanks for doing such a good job and creating an interesting and inspiring site.
